The tool fetches current weather from Open-Meteo (free, no account) for a city you pick or your device location, then suggests an ambient sound generated with Web Audio that fits that weather. While playing, the sound switches automatically if the weather changes after an update.
Frequently asked questions
Is my location stored or shared?
Only when you press "Use my location" are the (rounded) coordinates sent to Open-Meteo to get the weather, and they are stored on your device. You can also just search a city name.
How is the sound chosen?
Rain, storm or drizzle: rain sound. Snow or wind from 30 km/h: wind. Fog: deep hum. Clear skies from 30°C: ocean waves. Cloudy: fan. Otherwise: a soft sound.
